About Alpine Eagle

At Alpine Eagle, we are a team of machine learning practitioners and robotics engineers, building the first airborne, swarm-based system to provide protection against the rising drone threat. We believe that recent conflicts have shown the malicious and disruptive potential of drones in both civilian and defense scenarios. In addition, we are convinced that the next step in counter-drone is air-to-air. We want to ensure that all governments and institutions that believe in personal freedom and the rule of law have cutting edge solutions to protect against this rising threat.

We offer a work environment that is inclusive and open, with a flat hierarchy, and a purpose-driven team. We want to reinforce a culture where great ideas can flourish, and great people collaborate.

How you will make an impact

You’ll work as part of an experienced and rapidly growing team of software and robotic engineers building scalable software solutions and deployment processes for a highly innovative unmanned aerial system (UAS) solution. You’ll be able to see immediate results of your work by participating in flight tests and will get to lay the foundations of a new generation of multi-agent aerial systems.
 More specifically, you will:
• Develop software interfaces and reliable communication between system components such as sensors, companion computers and auto pilots
• Develop hardware drivers for controlling robotic vehicles in flight including drivers for navigation systems, radar systems, and vehicle control.
• Design and implement systems for automated testing, including creating new CI/CD pipelines and creating tests for virtualized hardware
• Prototype new hardware platforms to validate critical design concepts and assess technical limitations
• Own and extend our hardware-in-the-loop simulation environment

Requirements

• M.Sc. or PhD in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or several years of experience in related fields.
• Previous experience with developing and building hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments.
• Experience in a collaborative development environment, focused on continuous integration/delivery & unit testing to assure software quality.
• Multiple years of experience with PX4 – based flight stacks and operating UAVs.
• Multiple years of experience with NVIDIA Jetson-based platforms and ROS2.
• A hands-on attitude and strong sense of ownership.
• You approach complex problems systematically and document your results.
• You are a team player. You win when the team wins.
